The Greater Fiqh (Beliefs)
The book known as AI-Fiqh aI-Akbar (The Greater Fiqh) has been for centuries accepted as a definitive work on topic of Islamic belief. Being one of the earliest works written on the topic and considered as one of the surviving works of the Great Imam of jurisprudence and theology, Abu Hanifa Nu’man ibn Thabit al-Kufi , the text has been widely studied around the Muslim world for centuries. In this work, the correct belief and positions of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah (the people of the Sunnah and the Majority) will be codified and explained as well as substantiated by proof from both the Quran, Sunnah, and Consensus. Topics to be covered in this semester: The basis of Tawhīd and what constitutes a valid belief, The Oneness of Allah ﷻ, Allah’s ﷻ non-resemblance to creation, Allah’s ﷻ Attributes and Actions, and Allah’s ﷻ Names.
None required. You can enroll in this class without having taken the previous part.
