Shaykh Imadudeen Abu Hijleh Shaykh Imadudeen Abu Hijleh was born in Palestine. He has lived in the U.S. for twenty years. He studied the Islamic sciences under traditional scholars and received ijazas in Aqida, Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, and sub-sciences according to the Shafi’i school. He founded and taught at the Razi Institute in Massachusetts, an educational institute dedicated to the Islamic sciences. Shaykh Imadudeen has taught many students who have completed their studies under him, and who have later gone on to establish their own Islamic institutions in the U.S. He has taught courses at Harvard University and Manchester College through their respective Muslims Student Associations, as well as the “40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi” at the Summer Intensive for Western students at Dar Al-Mustafa in Tarim, Yemen, in 2008. He is the author of the book “An-Nujum ul-Lami’a,” an 850 page book including topics such as Aqida, Fiqh, Seerah and Sufism. He is currently based in Tarim Yemen, with his Shaykh Habib Umar, and writing additional works on Fiqh in the West, covering topics such as fasting, family relations, inheritance and dawah. Shaykh Samir An Nass Dr. Shaykh. Samir an Nass is one of the foremost religious scholars of his generation in Syria today. He is an expert in virtually all of the Islamic disciplines of learning, specializing in Qur'an, fiqh, hadith, and tasawwuf. He is one of the highest ranking scholars of tajwid in Damascus. In addition to this, he is medical doctor with a private practice. He did his residency and fellowship in America and continues to practice medicine in Damascus. Imam Amin Muhammad Imam Amin Muhammad is a native of Atlantic City, NJ, who has studied with traditional Shuyukh from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon. Among the Shuyukh whom he has benefitted greatly from are Shaykh Walid Ar Rifa’i, Shaykh Mahmud Addam, Shaykh Jamal Zahabi, Shaykh Samir An Nass, Shaykh Salahud Din Al Idlibiyy, Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Shaykh Abdullah bin Ali Basfar and others. He has studied many of the Islamic sciences such as ‘Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafsir, Sirah, Hadith, and Hadith methodology. Presently, Imam Amin teaches Hadith, Fiqh and delivers Jumu’ah Khutbah at Masjid Muhammad in Atlantic City, NJ. He also teaches and lectures at various mosques in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. He is also a teacher and advisor at M.E.C.C.A. Imam Mohammad Mujibur Rahman Imam Mohammad Mujibur Rahman completed the Alim Course at the Madressa Arabia Islamia in South Africa, where he studied Arabic, Tafseer (Qur’anic exegesis), ‘Aqeedah (Islamic doctrine), Hadith, and Fiqh (jurisprudence) for 6 years. There, he also learned Tajweed and the 10 modes of Qir’aat (recitations of the Qur’an). After his completion of the Alim Course, he went to Darul Uloom Deoband in India, where he continued his studies in Hanafi fiqh, and took extra courses learning the madhhab. Currently, he serves as Imam, Khateeb, and teacher in Madina Masjid in Manhattan, New York. Kemal Cecunjanin Brother Kemal Cecunjanin is currently an Arabic teacher at the Jesus Son of Mary Masjid in Connecticut. Previously, he was a full time student of the Sacred Knowledge residing the Middle East, where he stayed for 10 years, studying in Syria, Jordan, and Yemen. Some of the teachers that impacted him most are Sheikh Qusay Abu Sid, Habib Umar, Habib Mashour, and others. He successfully covered the core curriculum in the Shafi’i madhab, as well as texts in Aqidah, Logic, and Arabic Grammar. Zaid Mohiuddin Brother Zaid Mohiuddin studied the Ajrumiyyah at the Qasid Institute for Classical Arabic in Amman, Jordan, and Arabic in Damascus, Syria. He taught a class on the Ajrumiyyah at the Islamic Center at NYU during the 2005-2006 academic year. Currently, he is a third year student at Brooklyn Law School. Khalid A. Rahman Brother Khalid A. Rahman converted in the mid 90's in the presence of Imam Zaid Shakir. The latter assisted brother Khalid in acquiring a firm foundation in Islamic principles. Khalid studied aspects of the Arabic language and fiqh from Dr. 'abd al-Hamed of Masjid al-Islam in Hamdin, CT, Imam Siraj Wahhaj and scholars of the Dar al-'Ulum. Moreover, Khalid has visited Amman, Jordan, several times where he studied Tajweed, Arabic, Aqida and Tasawwuf. Khalid is known amongst his friends for his love of the Sunnah and his strict adherence to Shariah. Ebadur Rahman Ebadur Rahman memorized the Qur'an at the age of 15. After graduating from Stuyvesant High School in 2004, he moved to California where he studied at the Zaytuna Institute for four years in the pilot seminary program. He's currently pursuing undergraduate studies at NYU and has been teaching at MECCA since the fall of 2008. Wajiha Gregor Sister Wajiha Gregor accepted Islam many years ago, and then traveled abroad to study the essential Islamic sciences under the tutelage of traditional Islamic scholars. Fatima Jilani Sister Fatima Jilani studied Quranic recitation in Damascus, Syria and received her ijaza in Tajweed al Quran there. Delma Oliveras Sister Delma Oliveras is a Movement Therapist and Nutritional Consultant, Certified Personal Trainer, and Performance Enhancement Specialist. She is graduate fellow of Applied Functional Science from The Gray Institute and an Nforlife nutritional consultant. Delma has been a facilitator for The National Academy of Sports Medicine and Master Trainer for Free Motion Fitness. Delma has lectured in several fitness centers here in the US as well as in Hong Kong and Malaysia. As a full-time therapist, she integrates an eclectic approach of soft-tissue therapy, movement conditioning and nutritional consulting in New York City. Zainab Chaudhry Sister Zainab Chaudhry is a practicing attorney in New York. After graduating law school in 1998, she worked for several years as a judicial law clerk for the New York Court of Appeals. She has recently returned to the U.S. after spending the last four years studying Arabic at various language institutions in Syria, where she also studied tajweed, Shafi'i fiqh, and basic texts in several other Islamic sciences in Syria at the hands of several traditional teachers and scholars. She is currently residing in Albany, New York, where she will be inshAllah teaching a weekly halaqa, and tajweed and Arabic classes locally to the women in the community. She currently works as an Assistant Solictor General with the NYS Attorney General's Office.
