The Muslim Education and Converts Center of America (M.E.C.C.A.) is one of the few organizations in the tri-state area dedicated to providing a traditional Islamic education to its students. We strive to offer sound knowledge given by qualified teachers – something that has become very difficult to find these days. In addition, M.E.C.C.A. is one of the first organizations committed to educating and supporting new converts to Islam, while building bridges between Muslims and non-Muslims in American society. We are working for the many people coming to Islam who otherwise would have no one to turn to for sound knowledge and much needed support during undoubtedly difficult times. Since its founding in 2006, M.E.C.C.A. has been a leader in offering traditional Islamic education to all Muslims, and helping new Muslims learn the essentials and giving them a strong support system. We have established a center for Islamic learning and a gathering place for new Muslims in midtown Manhattan, and increased the number and variety of classes offered. In addition to our many courses, we also offer support groups and monthly gatherings, and we host events such as celebrations and social gatherings on holidays and other special occasions for both our students and the public. |
