Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwaal at the completion of Ramadan. The first Eid was celebrated in 624 CE by the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with his companions and relatives after the victory of the battle of Badr. On this day, Muslims not only celebrate the end of fasting, but thank Allah for the help and strength that He gave them throughout the previous month to help them practice self-control. If you would like to join us for the Eid gathering, please reserve your place by purchasing a ticket in advance. |

Our responsibility as Muslims is to help our new sisters and brothers learn the basics of the faith. We should encourage and support new Muslims to become strong, positive, and knowledgeable members of the community. We must do our best to ensure they receive sound and authentic knowledge, in order to make a positive contribution to our faith and country.
The Muslim Education and Converts Center of America (M.E.C.C.A.) was founded in 2006 with the intention of providing educational and support services to both the Muslim and non-Muslim community, with a special focus on new converts to Islam. |
