April 2nd-4th, 2010 M.E.C.C.A. is excited to announce our second Dowra program, which will focus on the essentials of fasting, Zakat (alms-giving), and Hajj that are obligatory upon every Muslim to know; as well as Islamic family matters. The three day intensive program will cover a range of topics and insha'Allah will provide students with a solid foundation of the deen. The Courses Anchor your religious pillars with this essential course that will cover the obligatory knowledge regarding fasting, Zakat, and Hajj. Imam Amin Muhammad will teach from Ar-Risalah al-Jami'ah authored by the great Shafi'i scholar Ahmad Ibn Zayn al-Habshi (d 1145 A.H.) Shaykh Imadudeen Abu Hijleh will address Islamic family matters, addressing such critical issues such as rights and responsibilities of both spouses, divorce, custody issues, polygamy, finance, and healthy family patterns in the light of Islamic Prophetic tradition. You will learn your rights and those of your loved ones, the knowledge that is essential for every person who seeks a happy family life. The lectures will be based on traditional works of the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. Our responsibility as Muslims is to help our new sisters and brothers learn the basics of the faith.
